Following consideration by the Officers of Acorn’s Management Committee, and in light of Government guidelines on social gatherings and self-isolation for the over-70s, it is with regret that the decision has been made to cancel all forthcoming Acorn support meetings and outings for an initial period of 12 weeks.
It is not known, yet, when the isolation period will end. But we will ensure that members are kept up-to-date with developments by email and through notice on the website, Facebook and Twitter, should there be any significant change in Government advice to enable us to reconsider this decision.
In the meantime, do keep in touch with your Acorn friends by phone, Skype or Facetime.
You may even like to make use of the Acorn Coffee Club which was set up for exactly the purpose of keeping in touch in-between our support meetings. If you would like access to this Facebook private group please let me or James Harding know. You will then receive an invitation to join the group and a link to the private chat area.
Best wishes to you all, and keep well,
Gordon Dyer MBE, Secretary, The Acorn Cancer Support Group
